Scott Garrett appointed as Adviser to SEC Chairman

Feb. 9, 2018: Scott Garrett has been appointed as an Adviser to U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chairman Jay Clayton. Garrett, 58, a former Republican Member of the U.S. House of Representatives, was rejected by the U.S. Senate in 2017 to lead the U.S. Export-Import Bank. Garrett was first elected to the U.S. House in 2002, and he lost a re-election campaign for his northern New Jersey House seat in 2016.
