Christopher Krebs nominated as Under Secretary, National Protection and Programs, Homeland Security Department

Feb. 9, 2018: Christopher Krebs was nominated as the Under Secretary for National Protection and Programs at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018. Krebs, of Virginia, is currently the senior official performing the duties of the Under Secretary for the National Protection and Programs Directorate at DHS, where he oversees the cyber and physical infrastructure security mission for the department. He is also the Assistant Secretary for the Office of Infrastructure Protection. Before he worked at DHS, Krebs was a director for cybersecurity policy at Microsoft’s federal government affairs office. Krebs received his law degree from the Antonin Scalia Law School at George Mason University.
