Emory Rounds nominated as Director, U.S. Office of Government Ethics

Feb. 9, 2018: Emory A. Rounds III was nominated as the Director of the U.S. Office of Government Ethics (OGE), for a five-year term, on Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018. Rounds, of Maine, has worked at OGE since 2009, and he is currently an Associate Counsel. At OGE, has also worked as the Special Assistant to the Acting Director and as the Acting Head of OGE’s Internal Operations Division. Before he joined OGE, Rounds was an ethics counsel at the White House Counsel’s Staff for six years during the administration of former President George W. Bush, first as a Deputy Associate Counsel, and then as a commissioned Associate Counsel to the President. Rounds has also worked at the Ethics Office at the U.S. Department of Commerce, and he has twenty-two years of active duty at the U.S. Navy Judge Advocate General’s Corps. Rounds received his law degree from the University of Akron School of Law.
