Jessica Killeen appointed Deputy Counsel to Virginia Governor

Jan. 12, 2018: Rita Davis was appointed as the Counsel to the Governor and Jessica Killeen was appointed as the Deputy Counsel to the Governor by Virginia Gov.-elect Ralph Northam on Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018. Davis has worked as a Senior Assistant Attorney General at the Office of Attorney General Mark Herring since August, 2016. Before that, she was a litigator at Hunton and Williams LLP for more than fifteen years, representing numerous domestic and international Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 companies. She previously clerked for the Eighth Circuit. Davis received her law degree from the University of Richmond. Killeen previously worked as a voter protection deputy director for the Virginia Democratic Coordinated Campaign. Before that, she worked as a litigator in private practice in Alexandria, Virginia. She has also worked as a Staff Attorney at Legal Services of Northern Virginia, where she represented low-income populations in civil legal matters. A native of Alexandria, Va., Killeen received her bachelor’s degree in political science and Spanish from James Madison University. She received her law degree from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law. Killeen also graduated from the Sorensen Institute for Political Leadership.
