Jon Baliles leaves office as Senior Policy Adviser for Innovation for Richmond, Va., Mayor's Office

Jan. 11, 2018: Jon Baliles resigned as a Senior Policy Adviser for Innovation for Richmond, Va., Mayor Levar Stoney on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018. Baliles, a former Richmond City Councilman, was hired by Stoney when Stoney first took office. Jim Nolan, a Spokesman for the Stoney administration, confirmed that Baliles’ last day with the city was on Jan. 3, 2018. “Jon Baliles is no longer employed by the city,” Nolan said when reached by phone. He declined to comment further on Baliles' departure, citing city policy not to discuss personnel matters. Baliles represented the West End 1st District on the Richmond City Council from January, 2013, through 2016.
