Brian Ball appointed Virginia Deputy Secretary for Commerce and Trade

Jan. 11, 2018: Brian Ball was appointed as a Special Adviser to the Virginia Governor for Economic Development and as the state government’s Deputy Secretary of Commerce and Trade by Gov.-elect Ralph Northam on Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018. Ball is currently the vice president and general counsel at the law firm of Williams Mullen, where he works as a business lawyer, concentrating his practice in mergers and acquisitions, securities laws and corporate governance matters. He regularly represents clients before state and federal administrative agencies and the Virginia General Assembly. Ball has previously worked on the boards of The Nature Conservancy in Virginia and Virginia Forever. He is a current member of the board of the Virginia Land Conservation Foundation and the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries. Ball graduated from the University of Virginia and the UVa Law School.
