Bob Thomas, Republican, cleared by U.S. Court of Appeals to take seat in Virginia State House of Delegates

Jan. 11, 2018: A federal appeals court yesterday, Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2018, denied Fredericksburg, Va.-area voters’ request to block Bob Thomas, Republican, from being seated in the Virginia House of Delegates, just hours before the General Assembly session started. A Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals panel in Richmond, Va., denied the motion seeking to keep Thomas from being seated due to dozens of people who voted in the wrong races in the Fredericksburg area. Thomas defeated Joshua Cole, Democrat, by seventy-three votes in the November, 2016, state legislative election.
