Jan. 10, 2018: Valerie Brader has announced that she plans to resign as the Executive Director of the Michigan Agency for Energy (MAE) on Feb. 10, 2018. Madhu Anderson, MAE’s Deputy Director, has been appointed to succeed Brader as the MAE Acting Executive Director. Separately, Gov. Rick Snyder has appointed Keith Creagh, the Director of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, as the Co-Chairman of the Pipeline Safety Advisory Board (PSAB) that Brader is leaving, effective on Monday, Jan. 15, 2018. The MAE will continue to have a seat on the PSAB. Brader, a lawyer, plans to join Rivenoak Law in March, 2018, and she also plans to lead a new consulting company. She was appointed as the Executive Director of MAE in 2015. Brader also has resigned from her position as a Special Legal Counsel for the Governor’s Office, also effective on Feb. 10, 2018. MAE was created by an executive order that was issued in March, 2015. MAE is housed at the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs. MAE’s Executive Director is appointed by the Governor and works as the chief adviser to the Governor and other state departments on energy policies and programs.
