Maine Adjutant General Douglas Farnham promoted to Major General

Jan. 10, 2018: Maine Adjutant General Douglas Farnham was promoted from Brigadier General to Major General on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018. Farnham’s promotion was presided over by Gov. Paul LePage. Farnham is also the Commissioner of the Maine Department of Defense, Veterans and Emergency Management. Farnham was appointed as the state’s Adjutant General on Dec. 29, 2015. He was promoted to Brigadier General on Jan. 21, 2016, and he is responsible for managing the activities of Maine’s Army and Air National Guard, Maine Veterans’ Services and Maine Emergency Management Agency. Farnham joined the Maine Air National Guard in 1991.
