Maryland State Del. Meagan Simonaire, Pasadena Republican, will not run for re-election

October 11, 2017: Maryland State Del. Meagan Simonaire, Pasadena Republican, announced on Monday, October 9, 2017, that she will not run for re-election, reversing a February, 2017, announcement that she would run for a second term. The decision occurred on October 9 after Simonaire dealt with increased responsibilities and opportunities at her full-time job, Simonaire said in a statement that she released. Simonaire said that she plans to remain in office through the end of her term, which ends in 2018. Simonaire was elected in 2014 to the Maryland State House of Delegates District 31-B seat. She is the daughter of Maryland State Sen. Bryan Simonaire, who is also a Pasadena Republican. Meagan Simonaire works as a specialized cosmetologist, working with burn patients, cancer patients and others to create the appearance of hair.
