Lee Cissna confirmed as Director, Citizenship and Immigration Services Bureau, U.S. Department of Homeland Security

October 10, 2017: Lee F. Cissna was confirmed as the Director of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Bureau (CIS) at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) by the U.S. Senate on Thursday, October 5, 2017. Cissna, 50, was most recently the Director of Immigration Policy at the Office of Policy at DHS. Cissna previously worked at the U.S. Department of State as a U.S. Foreign Service Officer, and he was stationed in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and Stockholm, Sweden. He also worked at the CIS Office of the Chief Counsel. Cissna received a bachelor of science degree in physics and political science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology; a master of arts in international affairs from Columbia University; and a law degree from the Georgetown University Law Center. 2017-10-05 PN352 Department of Homeland Security
