Lisa Johnson nominated as U.S. Ambassador to Namibia

October 9, 2017: Lisa A. Johnson was nominated as the U.S. Ambassador to Namibia on Thursday, October 5, 2017. Johnson, of Washington, is a career member of the federal government’s Senior Foreign Service, and she has worked as a diplomat since 1992. Johnson speaks French and Portuguese. She is currently the Charge’d’ Affaires at the U.S. Embassy in Nassau. Johnson received an M.S. from the National War College; an M.I.A. from Columbia University; and an A.B. from Stanford University.
