Nomination of Makan Delrahim as Justice Department Antitrust Division Director is placed on hold

August 9, 2017: U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren, Massachusetts Democrat, has put a hold on the nomination of Makan Delrahim as the Director of the Antitrust Division at the U.S. Department of Justice. The regulatory action delays any U.S. Senate vote on the nomination until at least September, when Senators return to office from their annual August recess. The Senate Judiciary Committee approved Delrahim’s nomination 19-1 on June 8, 2017. Nominations move to the full Senate after approval at the nomination's respective committee.
