Daniel Elwell appointed as Member, White House Deregulation Team

August 9, 2017: Daniel Elwell, Marianne McInerney, Jonathan Moss have been appointed in 2017 by the Trump administration as Members of the Deregulation Team tasked with studying, analyzing and reviewing federal government regulations. Elwell is reviewing regulations at the U.S. Department of Transportation. Elwell was previously a top lobbyist for American Airlines, where he worked on Transportation Department issues. Elwell also previously held positions at the Aerospace Industries Association, a trade association that represents aerospace and defense companies, and at Airlines for America, a trade association for airlines. McInerney is also working on reviewing Transportation Department regulations. McInerney was previously the president of the American International Automobile Dealers Association for three years. She also held executive positions at several electric and hybrid automotive companies. A third Transportation Department appointee, Jonathan Moss, was previously the managing director of international and regulatory affairs at United Airlines. One of his top responsibilities at the airline was “anticipating and responding to proposed regulations affecting United’s operations,” according to officials. Moss also worked at the Transportation Department during the Obama administration.
