Sharon Day nominated as U.S. Ambassador to Costa Rica

June 16, 2017: Sharon Day was nominated as the U.S. Ambassador to Costa Rica on Wednesday, June 14, 2017. Day, of Florida, was most recently the Co-Chairman of the Republican National Committee (RNC). She was first appointed to the RNC in January, 2011, and she was re-appointed in 2013 and 2015. Day was previously the chief executive officer and vice president of marketing at Stop Loss International, a general managing underwriter and reinsurance company, based in Indianapolis. Day was also previously the Chairman of the Broward County Housing Authority and a Commissioner at the Florida Commission on the Status of Women.
